As we stepped in the door I was so excited to grab a seat and lay my eyes on the menu…I had been wanting to come here for ages…

For those of you who don’t know, The Hinds Head is right next door to The Fat Duck (TFD), and like TFD , it is also owned and ‘looked after’ by Mr H Blumenthal.

We were greeted by a really nice lady who asked if we had reservations, which we didn’t…she told us we were lucky as there was just one table of folk who were about to get up and go and that we could have their spot in 5. We grabbed a drink at the bar and were seated, as promised, pretty immediately.

Again, keeping it pretty short and sharp, overall, we were slightly disappointed. Whilst there was definitely nothing WRONG with the food, it just didn’t blow me away like I thought it would. Perhaps that’s my fault!? Maybe my expectations were too high!? I dunno…..but it was basically just good pub food, not great, good.

We were there about 2 months ago and I can’t even remember what we ate to write about it – we each had 3 courses, so that’s 6 things that I can’t remember. Hmmmm…….
