PHOODIE’S TWO-CHEESE TWISTS 4
August 31, 2012
I think I MAY have said this before, so if that’s the case, excuse me, previous post, you have been SUPERCEDED!! But THIS RECIPE is the EASIEST one that exists on this blog!
Honestly, ANY MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD can make these, but like so much of what you will find here, the outcome is iMPRESSIVE beyond belief and will have one and all fooled into thinking that you are a Phamous Phrench Pastry chef!!
Crispy, buttery, pastry, cheesy goodness….. use whatever cheese you like, as long as it melts nicely…. and feel free to add herbs, such as oregano, or little bacon bits, or whatever…….
YUM to the moon to the stars and to mars – these are INSANE!
INGREDIENTS
1 x 375g packet puff pastry
1 egg – whisked, for egg wash
1/2 cup parmesan – grated
1/2 cup cheddar cheese – grated
METHOD
1) Preheat oven to 180 deg c.
2) Roll out the pastry into a large rectangle, approximately 30cm x 60cm – or until it is about 4mm thick.
3) Paint in egg wash.
4) Scatter 2 cheeses evenly over the surface.
5) Place a piece of non stick baking paper over the top of the cheese covered pastry and roll across the surface, forcing the cheeses to stick into the pastry.
6) Slice into 3/4 inch wide strips.
7) Twist from top and bottom end and place on baking paper lined tray and into oven for aboutttttttt 15 mins or until become golden and crispy looking!
ENJOYYYYY!!!!!!
NOTE: I tried them wide, medium and thin, in terms of my strips, and found the medium ones worked best! But experiment and see what you and your family enjoy! I also made little scrolls by cutting the strips thin, about 1cm, twisting as normal, and then rolling into a snail shape – the kids loved these ones!!
