TOMORROW’S Phriday Pheast comes to you TODAY in the phorm of a recap of a buncha thangs that I ate last week – ENJOY!

I was so excited in the lead up to my birthday.

For one reason only.

The fact that I had given myself permission to drive to Balmain and purchse (AND consume) 1 million cakes from Zumbo’s patisserie!

I must point out that I did actually share the cakes! So no, I am not a COMPLETE guzzler!!!! Just part – guzzler!

As suspected, they were SUPERB in each and every way. Entertaining to look at, an experience to eat, and an honour to photograph! The man IS a true genius!

BUTTER UP MRS PALMER

Burnt butter castriano and caramelsised palm sugar creme legere, palm sugar almond cruch with caramelised puff pastry. DEFINITELY one of my favourites in the collection.

COCOON

Chocolate sphere, banana caramel and milk chocolate chantilly, coconut foam mousse with a banana cremeaux. Texturally speaking, ABSOLUTELY amazing.

DON THE PANDAN MAN

Pan mousse, pandan financier, kaffir lime and coconut crunch, coconut kaffir lime dacquoise, pandan toasted brulee and rice pudding. Oooooooh – DEFINITELY another one of my faves!!!!! PHENOMENAL.

DUCK THE BALLS OF A L’ORANGE

Flourless orange cake, milk chocolate cinnamon crunch, vanilla cremeaux, orange jelly and orange star anise parfait. The only one I didn’t sample. Purchased this one for cinnamon-obsessed husbies! He LOVED it!

ENTER THE DRAGON

Toasted white chocolate mousse, coriander cremeaux, peanut caramel, dried chilli sable and almond sponge. AH I AM A LIAR!!! I also didn’t sample this one! But my stylist to the stars, T did – she said it was “very interesting” and “it didn’t taste anything like the way it sounds”….

AVE A AVO

Lemon cheesecake, avocado cream cheese mousse and olive oil gel. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! Especialllllly the gel!

ECLASIAN

Strawberry jelly, creme fraiche legere, sake soaked strawberries and choux pastry eclair. Realllllllly yum! Especially the crispy white chocolate top!

CHOCOLATE SURPRISE

Chocolate sable shell, chocolate cremeaux, liquid chocolate centre, raspberries and chocolate mousse. Have I said yet that I had a favourite?! If yes, then I wasn’t telling the entireeeeeeeee truth – as this is DEFINITELY on the phave list! BEYOND BEYOND! And that liquid centre was RIDICULOUS!

TARTE AUX FRUITS DE LA PASSION

Passionfruit curd and pâte sucrée. I can’t be trusted can I – I can promise you this time I mean it – THIS IS DEFINITELY MY FAVOURITE!!!!! This item is a classic, always on the menu, a MUST have!

MALTEASER MILKSHAKE LAYERED CRUNCH HEAVEN

Let’s save the best for last! Layers upon layers of milky, vanilla-y, crunchy, malt-y BLISS. When you suck on the straw you drink up the liquid middle layer, you then needed a tiny spoon to guzzle the rest! The best ‘EXPERIENCE’ on the menu!

I cannot wait to get older and older and OLDER if this is what I am permitted to do each and every year mid-june!

Adriano Zumbo is a GENIUS. I love this post for two reasons… 1) I love anything to do with Adriano ‘Sex God’ Zumbo and 2) Being Eurasian myself, I can vouch for the fact that anything Eurasian is good.

So glad you got to spoil yourself on your birthday – after all, calories don’t count on your birthday, do they?!
