HALLOWEEN 2012 – 3 PHUN ‘N’ PHRIGHTENING PHOOD IDEAS! 6
October 27, 2012
I adore Halloween.
Love it. Love it. LOVE it..
You can read more about that here in last years post, but for now, get scrolling down to see 3 cracking recipes that’ll be sure to scare your socks off…. or at least fill your tummies!
RECIPE 1: EAR WAX COVERED COTTON BUDS – EWWWWW!
Ingredients
Lolly pop sticks – as many as you want to make
Mini White marshmallows – as many as you need (each stick needs 2)
Caramel sauce e.g Dulche De Leche, Caramel fudge sauce etc Peant Butter would also work well!
Method
1) Skewer a mini marshmallow on each end of the lollipop stick.
2) Dip each marshmallow into the caramel and place on a baking paper lined tray to set.
3) Place in fridge and serve when set.
RECIPE 2: BAND-AIDS ‘N’ BLOOD
Ingredients
1 packet cheese biscuit fingers
Cream cheese spread – as much as you need – depends on number of fingers you make
Tomato Salsa – I use the smooth one without chunks
Method
1) Break cheese biscuits in half / into fingers.
2) Spread the cream cheese into the centre of the finger in the shape of a square (I found cream cheese squares, so I just cut them to size)
3) Dollop some tomato salsa into the centre of the cream cheese.
RECIPE 3: THE BEST WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE EVER – served in skull pots!
Ingredients
360 grams large white marshmallows
1 cup full cream milk
250 grams white chocolate (you can use milk or dark if you prefer!!)
200 ml thick cream – to be whipped
Method
1) Prepare a very large bowl of iced water – you will want to rest another bowl inside this later on.
2) Melt marshmallows, milk and chocolate gently (over a medium-low heat). Continuously stir the whole time.
3) Once melted, transfer into a medium sized bowl and place this medium bowl on top of the ice bath you created in step 1).
4) Every minute or so, vigorusly whisk the marshmallow mixture until it cools right down – this will take about 10 minutes.
5) Whip the cream so that stiff peaks form and then FOLD (I repeat, FOLD) the chocolate mixture into the cream.
6) Portion into pots and place in fridge for 3 hours to set.
Makes 8 small pots

These look absolutely gross! (which I guess is what you were going for!) Think I might have to eat them with my eyes closed haha but I bet they all taste great :)
Gross was totally the aim! :)
Hi Phoodie, loving your blog. These recipes look great, just the right mix of gross and deliciousness. Can I ask where you found the skull pots?
Phoodie you are unbelievably talented. Any chance you could post some ideas on a vintage themed Christmas party (for grown ups).
Thank-you! A friend SMS’d me the same question this am!! I bought them from Spotlight in Sydney but Ive seen them or similar at 2 of our local toy stores…. but probably a little more expensive there! If you live near any “dollar” or “discount” stores I am sure they’d have them too!
Thanks Gypsy! :) I am Christmas OBSESSED so I can’t wait to get into some “Season to be jolly” posts….. I’ve got a few others on their way before that though…..but when I DO get around to working on Chrissy posts I will keep this request in mind…. If you subscribe to the blog you will know IMMEDIATELY when these posts come up!
