THE FORMOSA DINING ROOM: Little Venice, London 0

Located in the heart of Little Venice and hanging off the back of one of the cutest old Victoriana style pubs, lies the best twice cooked crispy pork belly that you’re ever likely to taste!

Cry, die and then once you have recoverd, take your seat, browse the menu – choose anything and be up for a treat!

The Formosa Dining Room has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere and serves up fancy pub grub – but not ooooooverly fancy! Honestly, anything I have eaten there has been deeeeeeeeelicious and quite reasonable in price….. around £15 for a generously sized main course.

The pork belly is reason enough to go there – served with a delicious apple sauce and tear-worthy red cabbage, that’s generally what I order – but I went last night with a group of people and we all had different things…roast chicken, steak and ale pie, sea bass, duck, salmon and it was all awesome. I tried everything and I don’t have a bad word to say…..but DEFINITELY, if you’re a ‘pork person’ (pp) , don’t beat around the bush, just tuck straight into the belly – you won’t regret it.

Dessert was haym. Our table ordered the banoffee pie – one of the best I’ve had, creme brulee – very good, sticky date pudding – delish and the chocolate brownie – crunchy on the top, hot and soft in the middle served with vanilla bean ice cream – comfort food at its best.

Yay to the Formosa Dining Room!
