QANTAS ‘TWEET + EAT’ – SPICE TEMPLE, Melbourne 0
April 21, 2013
On Saturday the 13th of April I attended a lunch at the BEYOND delicious Spice Temple in Melbourne, called the ‘Qantas Tweet and Eat.’ The ever-inspiring Neil Perry was present (I was lucky enough to be seated next to him) and Qantas showcased their new Business class offering AND their new (and absolutely world-class) Singapore Lounge offering.
It was such a privilege to meet the team from Qantas, including Neil, and to interact with a bunch of other food, wine and social media enthusiasts! Neil talked a lot about his food and service philosophies as well as some life philosophies. It was amazing to be able to experience Qantas from “an insiders” perspective and I learnt so many interesting things about this iconic Australian airline. I never knew they employed more than 35,000 people! The staff that I met all had such genuine pride in the company they work for and this was so awesome to see.
Now, down to the serious business…..We ate….. Crispy pork belly sliders, Cabbage and radish pickles, Cucumbers with smashed garlic and ginger, Handmade yellow noodles with Wagyu braised brisket, chilli and Sichuan pepper, Crisp pork belly and smoked tofu with spicy ginger and garlic dressing, Stir fried Wagyu brisket with baby eggplant and fresh chilli, Chinese broccoli with house made oyster sauce,Hot and fragrant stir-fried prawns, Hot and numbing crispy duck and for dessert, Ruby red grapefruit granita with aperol and crushed hazelnuts! Every single mouthful was DANCING on my tongue with ridiculous flavour! You can see some snaps below.
If you haven’t been to Spice Temple, I highly recommend that you go! Not only was the food insanely delicious but the interior is spectacular, down to the details of the walls in the loo!
Thanks so much Qantas for a wonderful day!
