PHOODIE REVIEWS… OCEAN ROOM – Raita’s Tasting Menu; Circular Quay, Sydney 4

April 26, 2013

aaaaaarithmetic

I recently wrote about my favourite cuisine on Mamamia. Or cuisines rather. Greek, Lebanese and Japanese. In the post I explained quite clearly why Greek and Lebanese were chosen. I also explained why Japense food was chosen, however, I think this review here, on Raita’s Tasting Menu at the beautiful Ocean Room restaurant, is a really good way to show you EXACTLY why I am so obsessed with it. By “food” I am not just talking about the product, I am talking aout the way it is sourced and prepared. Treated and respected. The way it is served and enjoyed. Celebrated. The tasting menu experience is completely theatrical but in an understated and classic way. The staff ensured a fabulous evening was had by all. Each skillfully prepared course was explained to us before it was served, which I loved. With 12 courses it is important to understand what you are eating and why it is coming in that order. This was all made very clear. The cocktails were AMAZING too. Even the non-alcoholic ones! Im going to let my pictures do the talking.

ENJOY!

Oh, and Ocean Room is currently offering 2 for 1 cocktails from 6-7pm every evening! Wa hoo!
